What happens in a session?
A craniosacral therapy session will include:
An information sheet outlining current concerns and any relevant health history (first session only).
A conversation to set the intention for the session. Having an intention will allow you to get the most from your session. Perhaps you will arrive at the session with a clear intention. If not, time will be taken at the beginning of the session to help you find one. An intention could come from answering the question “what do I hope to get out of this session ?”
A gentle, non-invasive manual therapy (CST). A typical session involves hands-on contact. One doesn’t need to undress, but simply lie down. During the session I will encourage you to comment on the sensations you may be noticing while I place my hands at various points on your body. Bringing gentle awareness to where sensation is is part of the healing process. As in many healing paradigms, where attention is focused is where healing can occur.
It is likely in any session related to a birth experience that I will also make room for exploring pre and peri-natal imprints.
Questions and comments. Depending on the situation and time, the session might end with a brief conversation to answer any questions.
Sessions last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from the time you arrive until the time you leave. Comfortable clothing is recommended.
